There is a lot of local frustration with the delays and disruptions on the Metropolitan Line. Particularly at weekends when people feel cut off. Before the election, I met with the heads of TfL and London Underground to ask when the disruptions would stop. They couldn't give me a firm answer because a lot depends on a new signalling contract. I will be doing my bit to make sure that this contract is not a casualty of any cuts - but I need the help of commuters to build a strong voice for greater urgency .

If you use the Met ; please take a minute to fill in a very simple on line survey :- www.surveymonkey.com/s/7YBN9DV.
Let me know what you think.

I was at a packed meeting of the Harefield Residents Association last night. Villagers are furious at the damage done by Comer Homes to the Medi parc site , which has become a valued local nature reserve over the last twenty one years. Inspired by a similar campaign in Croxley green, they now want to register it as a village green . A bold scheme which has my support because It is a chance to secure a permanent legacy for future generations. I expect Comer Homes to put in a planning application shortly but they will not have the support of the community.

I have worked in the NHS as a doctor for almost 20 years. Over the last few years I have seen so many problems with the NHS, public services and our increasingly broken society that I decided that I needed to get involved - to help bring about real and positive change. I am now the Harrow West Parliamentary Candidate. I am married, and have 2 wonderful children who both go to state schools. I now only work part-time for the NHS so that I can dedicate my energies to the people of Harrow West and the issues affecting their lives.

I was born in Iran into a liberal thinking family and met my husband Charles in 1975, whilst he was working as a captain on the oil rigs in the Persian Gulf. I have now lived in Harrow for over 30 years and have raised my family in the Borough with my children both attending Harrow schools.

I have been an active political campaigner and fundraiser since 1992 and was elected as Harrow Councillor for Greenhill in 1994. Whilst working as a Harrow councillor, I was successfully involved in resolving several cases with both the Social Services and Housing department. Currently I am the first female President of the Harrow Rotary Club and involved in numerous campaigns and fundraisers for various charities.
